Why this exists

If you sell guest posts or sponsored placements, you already know the dance: write the piece, hold it as a draft, wait for the client to pay, then log in to WordPress and hit publish - and hope you remember to do it, and don't do it before the money actually lands.

Cosmobill removes the "log in and hit publish" step entirely. Pick the draft when you create the invoice. The moment that invoice is marked paid - by PayPal, card, or a confirmed bank transfer - Cosmobill publishes it on your site for you. If it's never paid, it just... stays a draft, forever.

Every connection uses the standard WordPress REST API, authenticated with a revocable Application Password you generate on your own site - no shared logins, no plugin required to get started. Sites fronted by Cloudflare or a similar WAF sometimes return HTTP 403 on that standard path, even with fully correct credentials; for those sites, install the free Cosmobill Connector plugin, which exposes a second, WAF-friendly publish path signed with HMAC-SHA256, and Cosmobill automatically prefers it once it's connected.

No, it's optional. By default Cosmobill talks to your site through the standard WordPress REST API that ships with every modern WordPress install, authenticated with a WordPress Application Password (Users → Profile → Application Passwords) - no plugin to install or maintain. The free Cosmobill Connector plugin is a recommended upgrade only for sites fronted by Cloudflare or another WAF, since it publishes through a path those firewalls don't block.
Nothing publishes. The post sits exactly where you left it - a draft, invisible to visitors - until the linked invoice is actually marked paid. There's no partial or scheduled publish; it's all-or-nothing, tied to payment.
Many hosts and Cloudflare put a Web Application Firewall in front of the legacy /wp-json/ REST path, and that firewall often blocks the automated POST request WordPress needs to publish a post - even with fully correct credentials. The Cosmobill Connector plugin exposes a second endpoint on /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php instead, a path every WordPress admin screen already relies on, so WAFs don't block it. Every request to that endpoint is signed with HMAC-SHA256 so your site only ever acts on calls from your own Cosmobill account.
It works with any draft on your WordPress blog. "Guest Posting Automation" describes the most common use case - selling a placement and publishing it only once you've been paid for it - but the same link-a-draft-to-an-invoice flow works for sponsored content, paid reviews, or any post you don't want live before payment clears.
